My interest in C-Section Scar Therapy began following my own C-Section with my second child in 2017. Following a traumatic first natural labour, where I was provided with various handouts with information and support, alongside appointments for rehabilitation and check-ups, after my C-Section I was sent home after 24 hours with an infected scar, no information and no pain relief (the hospital had “run out”!). It just did not seem right that so many women were not being supported following such a significant surgery.

C-Section scar therapy is a specialised hands-on treatment combining gentle scar techniques on and around the scar, massage, breathing, and a diastasis recti (abdominal separation) assessment. Treatments have been shown to help mobilise the area, prevent adhesions forming, reduce pain, normalise sensitivity, and reconnect you with your body. Sessions are self-paced and tailored to each individuals needs. Treatment includes advice on appropriate C-Section scar products and simple at home care.
