Restore Therapy is passionate about making scar therapy available to those who need it where possible. Free treatment is offered as part of our trainee assessment programme, and takes place in supervised clinic sessions. Over 2,000 FREE appointments have already been provided since launch, and we want that number to reach 5,000.

We understand that not everyone is able to afford specialist treatments. Our free scar therapy pledge provides a win-win for those who would otherwise not be able to afford treatment whilst ensuring therapists completing their advanced skills course have the hands-on experience they need to offer scar therapy to their clients.
Each time we run a course we make appointments available, so more people can benefit from a FREE relaxing and holistic scar treatment.
Treatment is given by therapists attending an advanced training in gentle techniques for clients with scar tissue, adhesions and common issues after surgery and injury. The appointment will incorporate:
- A massage on your scar and the surrounding area.
- Treatment of the visible scar on the skin and internal scar tissue and fibrosis.
- Helpful self-care advice for you to continue at home.
When the appointment is finished, you may immediately notice a change in your scar, or simply feel relaxed and de-stressed. Clients are welcome to attend more than one session, you can re-book in for multiple appointments. We have had many returning clients, some have come back for more than five years running, others have found one session was useful enough for their needs.

The clinic setting
Training rooms where the free clinics take place are usually busy and can be a little noisy. Wherever possible, we try and provide some screening between clients, but the appointments are not usually given in a private room. If your scar is more personal such as a c-section, abdominal hysterectomy or breast surgery we will usually be able to offer some screening and your treatment table will be away from any male clients attending and you can select if you only want to be treated by female or only male therapists. We are usually unable to offer full privacy screening, but if you are concerned you can simply get in touch and discuss your needs when you are interested to attend.
Some clients may be personally invited to arrive early to allow the tutor to give a demonstration to the group, but this is always organised with the client in advance of the clinic.

If you have a scar as a result of an accident, a planned or emergency surgery or cosmetic procedure you can benefit for a FREE scar therapy appointment
You don’t need to be aware of any issues with your scar to enjoy attending an appointment. Or perhaps you have a scar which is causing pain, is tight, puckered, or pulling and want some help and advice. Ideal anytime from 8 weeks to decades after a surgery or injury. Small (including keyhole) and large scars (including burns) are very welcome.
Your scar can be new or many decades old and will still respond to treatment. When appointments are released, we capture your details and screen all our clients to make sure therapy will be suitable for you.
