About
Hi, my name is Karrie, I qualified as a massage therapist in 1996 and since then I have studied a variety of massage therapies.
My interest in oncology massage began in 2017 when cancer touched my family and I felt utterly helpless in the face of the pain of a loved one. I could see the importance of having a gentle and non-medical touch that helps reduce stress and achieve a sense of wellbeing. I could also see some of its other benefits such as better sleep, improved bowel movements and pain reduction. These small moments of relief felt so important amongst all the intensive medication and treatment going on.
The years after the surgery have been tough because of the pain and limitations caused by the scar, I felt utterly helpless again. There is currently no help available for painful scars, other than more surgery to remove adhesion, which just leads to more scar tissue. So, In 2024, I trained with Emma Holly and became a Restore Oncology scar therapy practitioner to help reduce discomfort and improve movement and in some cases to help improve the appearance of the scar.
I work in Waterlooville from my private treatment room. I also volunteer as a therapist at Macmillan Centre based within QA Hospital, working with people living with and beyond cancer.
I look forward to welcoming you to my clinic and working alongside you to get the results you need and helping you feel great again.
