Shannon Al Samaraie is the principal therapist of Flow Lymphoedema in the northern Brisbane suburb of Gaythorne. Shannon has 20 years experience as a physiotherapist in musculoskeletal, community, cardiac and the lymphoedema fields and has completed further training in geriatrics and oncology scar therapy.
Shannon has an interest in scar management, chronic oedema and lymphoedema after cancer surgery and treatment. She firmly believes in evidence-based practice that supports early intervention to minimise the effects of scarring and lymphoedema and a collaborative approach to self management for long term success.

I had bilateral mastectomies in 2023 followed by chemo and radiation. I had developed swellings,extreme tightness and tethering of my scar,feeling like I had “a brick on my chest”. Had tried another specialist physio without success and finally got Shannon’s name.
Have had 4 visits with Shannon and there is noticeable improvement. I am made comfortable,have massage to the areas and use of a couple of aids to help. I am never rushed,kept informed by a very professional practitioner and have noticed some improvement and feel treatment has helped. I know this will not be “fixed” over night but very grateful to be getting the right treatment finally. I would certainly recommend Shannon at Flow lymphoedema if you need similar treatments.
