Hi, I’m Vickie, based in Brentwood, Essex, I have over 23 years experience as a Soft Tissue Therapist, however, since 2018 I now specialise in Scar Therapy, firstly in Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork, then with Emma Holly at Restore Therapy. As one of the Restore Therapy Teaching Team, I pride myself in constantly pursuing a high level of knowledge and experience in scar tissue management and recovery from surgery, trauma or injury.

Working with Restore Therapy has enabled me to volunteer with the Invictus Athletes and at Dan’s Fund for Burn Survivors, giving me experience in working with burn scars, amputation scars, and with people who have experienced trauma. I have a special interest in women’s health scars such as those from caesarean births, hysterectomies, cancer surgeries and joint replacements as well as cosmetic procedures.

My approach is of a collaborative nature, I work with my clients to provide a bespoke treatment plan that helps them to reach their goals and provide support in their scar therapy journey which includes advice on products, giving self care tips and homework. Whether I am working on a small face scar, a sensitive throat scar, a problematic caesarean scar, or multiple scars from a RTA or several cancer related surgeries I consider it an honour to care for them and their needs.

Scar massage is a non-invasive hands on treatment, mobilising tissue and adhesions, addressing fascial restrictions and sensory changes. Where appropriate, I draw upon my skills in cupping, taping and Dry needling to create a change within or around the affected area. Additionally, I often incorporate the use of devices, such as Deep Oscillation Therapy, (an electrostatic pulse which gently treats tissues 8cm below the surface of the skin) and LymphaTouch (a mechanical negative pressure device) to get the best possible outcomes.

With easy transport links (Brentwood station, on the Elizabeth Line, is a 15 mins walk) and close to the A127, A12 and M25 I serve clients from Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, and several Greater London Boroughs. On-site parking is available at my home based clinic where I am able to provide bespoke Scar Therapy treatment in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
