Clinic Bio
I’m a soft tissue therapist, trained originally at the University of Westminster, graduating in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Health Science: Neuromuscular Therapy. I was lucky enough to have amazing tutors, including the late Leon Chaitow.
For many years, I practiced as a Sports Massage Therapist specialising in soft tissue work. Working in a variety of settings in London and Kent with a range of great clients at all levels of competitive sport.
In 2019, I decided to refocus my training and practice in the growing field of Scar Therapy. This was after experiencing the power of working with a caesarean scar on a marathon runner with tight hip flexors. The work gave flash backs to birth trauma and brought tears to her eyes. I was fascinated to learn more about this connection with fascia, scar tissue and emotion.
2023 was a tough year. I had quite a major setback when I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma after having a swollen gland in my neck for just a few weeks. It was a scary and traumatic time for us as a family but we got through the chemo and radiotherapy with support from lots of lovely friends and family.
After getting the all clear earlier this year and realising how much my own cancer journey had impacted my life, I decided to complete further Scar Therapy training focusing on Oncology Scar Therapy. I have since been doing some really rewarding work with clients who have been through surgery for cancers such as Breast, Lung, Liver and Bowel. Together we have made some really positive changes to decrease pain and discomfort and increase range of movement which had been restricted by scar tissue.
If I can help you or anyone you know who may be suffering then please feel free to get in touch.
