Profile

Victoria Kent is an experienced osteopath with over 25 years clinical expertise of treats aches and pain anywhere on the body, not just backs!

Having treated women for nearly three decades she understands how complex womens’ lives can become and how this can affect their bodies, especially if they are facing common female health challenges. Her main objectives are to reduce her patients’ tension and pain, to build their resilience and to help their body thrive, whatever the ups and downs of life.

Victoria believes that it is vitally important to treat c section scars that aren’t healing well for a number of reasons. When C section scars heal poorly, they can affect the mother’s physical comfort because of tension and pain. Her mobility can also be affected because of pain or because of possible adhesions. This can affect her pelvis and low back function as well as her abdominal and pelvic organ function. Treating a c-section scar can also benefit a mother emotionally and help her self esteem because working with scars can improve their appearance. For some women a c-section scar may have resulted from a traumatic birth and working on the scar can aid emotional healing, helping the mother move forward with more confidence and resilience.

‘I would love to see a time, when very mother who has undergone a c-section, could have their scar checked about eight weeks after by a scar specialist, to pick up on complications such as pain, tension and adhesion formation. Early intervention can really influence how well the scar heals. A scar that heals well looks neater and has more mobility in the surrounding area. I have treated women years after a Caesarian, where the poor scar healing has contributed to their back aching, their sciatica or their abdominal aches and pain etc. Whilst it is never too late to improve the function of a scar it is easier if you can treat it earlier. Please think of getting your scar treated, especially if it is bothering you!”

Victoria firmly belives that it is important to to treat c-section scars as it can improve healing, pain and
Victoria believes in emphasising the importance of early intervention on c-section scars and helping women’s to look after their scar to prevent complications. “It would be amazing if every woman who has had a c-action could have a post operation 8 week check to make sure it was healing well!
